Ashtami Rohini: 17 August 2014 in Kerala.

Dahi Handi & Gopalkala: 17 August 2014 in Maharashtra. During this celebration, huge human pyramids are made to reach the pot hanging at height and break it.

Unlike North India, Janmashtami in South India is celebrated for 8 days after the full Moon in the month of Shravan, which also falls in between the months of August and September according to South Indian calculations.
