Ruling Planets are the second's most powerful determinants in KP Astrology according to Guruji Krishnamurti. Late Shri Krishnamurti devised the KP System, or Krishnamurti Paddhati system, in an attempt to alter Vedic Astrology forecasts. It is the simplest method of accurately anticipating an event. Ruling planets are divine planets that are ruling at the time of the astrologer's question, assisting the astrologer in answering the query presented to him by his customer with accuracy based on the chart he has produced calculated on the basis of the number within 1 and 249 the client tells to astrologer.

In simple terms the ruling planets are those that govern the actual second of judgement (in the case of horary/Prashna), the beginning (natal chart), or any difficulty that may arise. In KP Astrology, the ruling planets are

• Star-Lord of the Lagna
• Lagna Lord
• Star-Lord of Moon
• Sign Lord of Moon
• Lord of the Day

Later SubLord of Lagna and SubLord of Moon were also added to the list of Ruling Planets.

Why Do KP Astrologers Use Ruling Planets?
