But things started moving downhill for the Sahara Pariwar when Sebi conducted some investigations as part of a regular enquiry and what followed brought about the slow downfall of the giant business conglomerate during the Venus Mahadasha and Saturn Antardasha in 2009. Sebi ordered the Sahara Group to return Rs. 24,000 crore back to over 30 million individuals that it had traded money from illegally.
