Ram Navami in 2013 | Ram Navami 2013
Ram Navami in 2013 is on April 19, Sunday. For Hindu people Ram Navami is one of the sacred occasions. As Lord Ram was born on ninth day of Chaitra month, the day is remarked as Ram Navami. Like every year , Ram Navami, will be celebrated on 9th day of Chaitra month in Shukla Paksh (Bright moon period). Lord Ram is one of the most loved kings and a true ideal and inspiration of truth and justice. Lord Ram is regarded as the most pious, spiritual and dutiful human being of Satyayuga (the Age of truth and Justice). Shri Ram is avatar (incarnation) of Lord Vishnu and came on earth to teach human beings the lessons of truth and real justice. Lord Ram is also regarded as Maryada Purushottam Bhagwan Ram. He was very dedicated towards his relationships, duties and responsibilities. Ram Navami 2013 reminds us once again to offer our invocation and spiritual feelings towards shri Ram. In Ram Navami 2013 you will again come across the beautiful posters and pictures or idols of Shri Ram along with his wife Seeta, brother Lakshaman and Bhakt (devotee) Hanuman on a chariot. Ramayan, the great epic, is the story encompassing life of lord Rama. Lord Ram always carries Dhanush and Baan in his picture.
Every year Ram Navmi festival comes at the end of March or beginning of April month. Perhaps this festival is not celebrated like other grand festivals Holi and Diwali, but yes, this auspicious occasion reminds us about Lord Rama and the inspiration he gave us. Today, people have really forgotten the true meaning of responsibilities and duties. They are gradually indulging in selfishness and falsehood. We can't deny that this is Kalayuga-the Iron Age, where the entire atmosphere is full of evil things. If we truly want to defeat our immoralities, we should deeply commemorate Lord Rama.
Bhagwan Shri Ram is the elder son of King Dashratha and queen Kaushalya, this gives him another name -Dashrathanandan. Shri Ram is the real idol of patience. With enormous endurance, lord Ram had completed 14 years of Vanvas (exile) given by his father and second mother Kakai. He never perverted his path of truth. Lord Ram defeated the powerful king of Lanka and herculean devil of earth "Ravana", and thus proved that good things and truth always get victory over evil existence.
On the occasion of Ram Navami, religious people and devotees of Shri Ram get up early in the morning and take bath to proceed for worship. Many devotees also keep strict fast on this day and do not consume salty food. People decorate their pooja sthan (place of worship) at home and embellish idol or picture of shri Ram with colourful flowers and with mesmerizing fragrances of dhoop battis. Temples of Shri Ram are also decorated with colourful lights and flowers. Pundits adorn shri Ram with mukuts of gold or silver, and with beautiful, neat and clean silky cloths. They pray invocations, bhajans and aarti of shri Ram with a melodious loud echo. They offer varieties of Sweets and Prasad to please lord Ram.
